Mike Cantley | Washington D.C.

ABS Certified Master Biblical Storyteller

Mike Cantley is a biblical storyteller, a musician, and a soon to be ordained United Methodist elder. Raised in southeast Arkansas, Mike’s first career as a professional firefighter and firefighter instructor led to undergrad work in Emergency Administration and Management and graduate work in both theology and “International Peace and Conflict Resolution” in Washington, DC. He continues utilizing his training techniques from the Quakers’ “Alternatives to Violence Project” and his experiences with Christian Peacemaker Teams to work regularly with kids and families in the local schools and neighborhoods to stretch imaginations and help them create new ways of living together.   Mike’s work in the Academy has led to both the start of an online project (ParallaxStories.com) centered on Luke’s gospel and “enemy love” plus an ambitious plan to learn Luke by heart! He and his wife Brooke are forming a weekend retreat in the Story—brainstorm with them about a couple of days away with Luke and Jesus, some great reflection time, activities, and hospitality for your group.
